Sacred music has long been an essential part of the Church's prayer and worship. At St. Rita in the Desert, our Music Ministry leads the faithful in lifting their hearts to God through song, encouraging the full, conscious, and active participation of the assembly in the Sacred Liturgy.
Whether you are an experienced musician or someone who simply loves to sing, we warmly invite you to share your gifts with our parish community.
No auditions are required—only a love for God and a desire to praise Him through music.
Our Mission
Inspiring Worship Through Sacred Music
Our Music Ministry strives to embrace the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi, who described himself and his followers as "Troubadours of the Lord." We seek to unite joyful praise, active participation in the Sacred Liturgy, and a seamless connection between prayer and the arts.
Following the example of St. Francis, we believe music is not a performance—it is an act of worship. Through song, we hope to inspire others to encounter Christ and experience the joy of the Gospel.

Ways to Serve
English Choir
Lead the congregation in sacred music during weekend Masses, holy days, and special liturgical celebrations.
Coro Español
Se invita a cantantes e instrumentistas a unirse a nuestro coro español para la misa del mediodía.
Instrumentalists
Pianists and instrumentalists are always welcome to share their musical talents in support of the Sacred Liturgy.
Ministry Commitment
- Attend scheduled rehearsals
- Honor your ministry commitments by serving as scheduled
- Complete Safe Environment Training (new members may participate for up to four weeks before completing the clearance process.)

We're currently seeking a pianist for Tuesday rehearsals and the Saturday evening Mass.
Approximately 4 hours per week.
Stipend available.

Join us as we prepare music for Advent, Christmas, Holy Week, Easter, and other special celebrations throughout the liturgical year.

Why It Matters

Whether or not he spoke those exact words, the truth remains: sacred music has always held a special place in the life of the Church.
Through every hymn, psalm, and acclamation, our Music Ministry helps the faithful lift their hearts to God and participate more deeply in the Sacred Liturgy. Music becomes more than sound—it becomes prayer.
