St. Rita
Ushers
Welcoming All in the Name of Christ
The Ministry of Ushers is one of the oldest lay ministries in the Catholic Church. Today, ushers continue that tradition by welcoming parishioners and visitors with hospitality, kindness, and a spirit of service.
Whether greeting someone at the door for the first time or welcoming familiar faces each week, ushers help create an atmosphere where everyone feels at home as they gather to worship God.
Our Mission
Supporting the Celebration of the Mass
The Usher Ministry serves the parish by helping create a welcoming, orderly, and prayerful environment for the celebration of the Sacred Liturgy. Through attentiveness, hospitality, and a spirit of service, ushers assist parishioners before, during, and after each Mass.
"Welcome one another, then, as Christ welcomed you."
— Romans 15:7

Why It Matters
The ministry of an usher is one of quiet service. By assisting parishioners, supporting the celebration of the Mass, and helping maintain a welcoming and prayerful environment, ushers allow others to focus on what matters most—encountering Christ in the Eucharist.
